Caring for a living landmark

Derby Arboretum was designed by John Claudius Loudon and opened in 1840 — the very first park in Britain given freely to the public. Today, the Friends of Derby Arboretum work to protect its legacy, organise community events, and ensure this beautiful space continues to thrive for generations to come.
